Freedom of Scotland

Orð og lag: Heri Nolsøe
Viðmerking: Sangurin luttók í sangskrivarakapping, sum skotska blaðið “The Herald” skipaði fyri í 1998, tá Skotland fekk heimastýrið og egið parlament.

Shining light we’ll be free,
from the mountains to the sea,
Scotland fills our hearts and our souls.
Freedom has become our friend,
and we love our glorious land,
hope and joy in confidence and peace.

For freedom shines like a lighthouse in the night,
fascinating times the Scottish have in sight.
Our children will be glad in promising days ahead,
there’s a new born freedom growing here instead.

Through the history we see,
Scotland lives in you and me,
from the highlands in the north down to the south.
Freedom songs both clear and loud,
singing out from our mouths,
struggle, spirit, faith and work before us now.

For freedom shines like a lighthouse in the night,
fascinating times the Scottish have in sight.
Our children will be glad in promising days ahead,
there’s a new born freedom growing here instead.
